Our Favorite Dog Parks

Blue and I love our morning walks and time in the local parks around Fishtown. After all, just like I need to get out and take in some nature or even just grab a beer, Blue likes an outdoor adventure, too. And here in the Philadelphia area, luckily, we have quite a few options. From dog parks and hiking trails to more off beat options, there’s no shortage of places to take our pups for a nice day out — whether you’re feeling rugged and outdoorsy, or more metropolitan.

So, where can you take your dog for a good time without traveling too far? Here are a few good options in the city, the burbs, and New Jersey that Blue and I frequent:

In Philly

  • Schuylkill River Park Dog Run
  • Orianna Hill Park
  • Clark Park
  • Wissahickon Valley Park
  • Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park
  • Seger Dog Park
  • Penn’s Landing Dog Park
  • Sherman Mills Dog Park
  • Palmer Doggie Depot
  • Mario Lanza Park
  • Kitchen Lane Dog Run
  • Green Street Dog Park

In the burbs

  • Ridley Creek State Park, Media
  • Natural Lands’ Stroud Preserve, West Chester
  • Elmwood Park Zoo Dog Days, Norristown
  • Rolling hill park, Lower Merion
  • West Mill Creek Park, Narberth

In New Jersey

  • Timber Creek Dog Park, Blackwood
  • Freedom Barks Dog Park, Medford
  • Longport Dog Beach, Somers Point
